Chengdu, is home to the Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Spot, which was named after the giant statue of Buddha. Carving of the giant statue begun in the Tang Dynasty took more than 90 years. The river below the statue’s locations was a very dangerous one for ships going down the river, and many people were killed each year. The monk Hai Tong believed that by building the statue, the river gods would be appeased, and it would save many lives. Over 233 feet in height and 28 feet in width, the Leshan Giant Buddha is the biggest colossus in the world.


Jiuzhaigou is part of the Min Mountains on the edge of the Tibetan Plateau and stretches over 180,000 acres. It is known for its many multi-level waterfalls, colorful lakes, and snow-capped peaks. Its elevation ranges from 6,600 to 14,800 ft. Jiuzhaigou Valley was inscribed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1992 and a World Biosphere Reserve in 1997. It belongs to the category V (Protected Landscape) in the IUCN system of protected area categorization.


The ‘World Wonder’ and ‘Fairy Land on Earth’ are names enjoyed by the Huanglong Scenic Spot, which is well known for its colorful lakes, snow clad mountains, valleys and virgin forest. It was included in the UNESCO world heritage list in 1992. Huanglong Scenic Spot is famed for its outstanding travertine (calcium carbonate) formations. With the virgin forest as its backdrop, the travertine scenery holds colorful ponds, beaches, lakes, springs, waterfalls, caves, etc. The travertine formations scenery is No.1 in China.

Day 1- Departure from SFO Chengdu China
Day 2- Arrival in Chengdu (D)
Arrive in Chengdu, the capital of province Sichuan. Meet your guide upon arrival and transfer to hotel.
Day 3- Chengdu Bus to Leshan Bus to Emai Shan (BL)
In the morning leave for Leshan, visit the Grand Buddha in Lingyun Temple. After visit the Lingyun Temple and the Grand Buddha boating on the Minjiang River to see the front site of the Grand Buddha and the “hidden sleeping Buddha”. Afterwards head for Mt. Emei, visit Baoguo Si at the foot of Mt. Emei, the biggest temple in Emei Shan.
Day 4- Emei Shan Bus to Chengdu (BL)
Early in the morning take the sightseeing bus to the Leidongping Bus Station along the 52-kilometer zigzag mountain road. Then walk to Jieyindian, upon arrival, take the cable car to the Golden Summit. After visiting Jinding, take cable car and the sightseeing bus down to the foot of Mt. Emei Shan, drive back to Chengdu.
Day 5- Chengdu Bus to Sanxingdui Bus to Mianyang Bus to Jiangyou (BLD)
In the morning drive to Chengdu Giant Panda Base of Breeding and Research. Founder in 1985, today there are over 50 giant panda living here. Afterwards drive to Mianyang. En route visit Sanxingdui Museum is a good place to explore the mysterious ancient Shu culture and history. In the late afternoon reach Jianyou.
Day 6- Jiangyou Bus to Pingwu Bus to Jiuzhaigou (BLD)
Keep drive via Pingwu to Jiuzhaigou (Nine-villages Valley), which is listed as a World Natrual Heritage and reputed as a “fairyland” with its fantastic natural view. It is named after the nine Tibetan villages in the scenic area. On the way visit the Bao’en Si Temple near Pingwu.
Day 7- Jiuzhaigou (BLD)
Walking and sightseeing the whole day in three valleys of Jiuzhaigou (Nine-villages Valley).Day 8- Bus to Jiuzhaigou Bus to Huanglong Bus to Chuanzhusi (BLD)
In the morning drive to visit the Huanglong (Yellow Dragon) Scenic Spot which is listed as a World Natural Heritage. Huanglong is marked by its low-temperature and highly calcified Karst landform, which forms numerous valuable colored ponds. In the afternoon drive to Chuanzhusi.
Day 9- Chuanzhusi Bus to Hongyuan Bus to Taoping Village (BLD)
Drive to the grassland of Hongyuan, meet the Tibetan nomads, on the way visit the Waqie Pagoda Forest and the Tibetan Maiwa Monastery. Keep on drive to Taoping Stockaded Village of Qiang People. The ancient Taoping Village has a great appeal for the numerous experts and tourists with its odd and wonderful fortress buildings. 1N at simple guesthouse in a family in the village.
Day 10- Taoping Village Bus to Wenchuan Bus to Chengdu (BL)
Drive to Yingxiu, visit the relic of 2008 earthquake. Then drive to Dujiangyan to visit the Irrigation System, which was built around 250 BC by Li Bin, a governor of Shu Prefecture in Qin State. Late in the afternoon arrive in Chengdu.
Day 11- Air Chengdu Fly to Home (B)
