High in the Min Mountains of China’s Sichuan province rare plants and animals find sanctuary in the Jiuzhaigou National Park, a green reserve bumped up against the Tibetan Plateau. Our Zen Panda tour offers a peek into the rich Tibetan culture as well as its stunning geographical beauty. Visit Tibetan Buddhist monasteries, as well as the Dali Lama’s summer palace. In the middle of it all, you’ll witness the stunning giant pandas at Bifengxia Reserve.

Your tour begins in the beautiful city of Beijing, and from there you’ll be arriving in Beijing, you’ll take a guided tour of Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, and you’ll also attend a Tea Ceremony at Bell Tower after a ride in a Hutong Rickshaw. The next day you’ll get to see the magnitude of The Great Wall of China from a gondola.

Next, you will visit the Jiuzhaigou National Park for a day of hiking and sight-seeing. That evening, you’ll get to visit a Tibetan family, where they will perform a dance for you and you’ll enjoy a fire roasted lamb for dinner. The next morning you’ll visit the Huanglong Scenic Spot, which is world-renowned for it’s serene multi-colored ponds.

Next up you’ll fly to Chengdu, and in the morning you’ll get to visit one of the largest giant panda breeding centers and reserves, the Bifengxia Panda Reserve. After visiting a nearby ancient town in Shangli, you’ll get to experience a traditional Shichuan Opera.
After travelling to Lhasa, you’ll visit the Jokhang Temple and the Potala Palace. Afterwards you’ll get to peruse the various vendors on Barkor Street. The next day you’ll get to explore Norbulinka, the summer palace of the Dalai Lama. In the afternoon you’ll see Buddhist monks debate scripture at the Sera Monastery. That evening, you’ll fly to Shanghai.

To wrap your trip up, you will take a full day’s tour of the Shanghai Jade Buddha Temple, the Yu Yuan Garden, and explore the various market streets surrounding the garden.

Day 6 – Full day sightseeing and walking in the Jiuzhaigou National Park. Transfer to visit Tibetan family where they will Guozhang dance and roast a whole lamb. Overnight at 4* hotel (B L D)
Day 7 – In the morning drive to visit the Huanglong (Yellow Dragon) Scenic Spot which is listed as a World Natural Heritage. Cable car up and down. Huanglong is marked by its low-temperature and highly calcified Karst landform, which forms numerous valuable colored ponds. In the afternoon transfer to airport, fly to Chengdu (CA4478 JZH-CTU 16:55pm/17:50pm or similar). Transfer to 4 * hotel. Dinner – hot pot with Chinese medicinal herbal at Qin Shan Zhai. Enjoy Sichuan opera. Note: Generally, If Huanglong closed for tourism because of the weather we will transfer to visit Songpan. In the morning, drive to Songpan, walk through the ancient town of Songpan. Keep driving to the Mounigou Valley, enroute visit a Tibetan Buddhist monastery. After visit the Mounigou Valley drive to the airport and fly to Chengdu. Transfer to 4 * hotel. Dinner – hot pot with Chinese medicinal herbal at Qin Shan Zhai. (B L D)
Day 8 – Drive to Bifengxia Reserve; visit the giant pandas at the Panda Base in Bifengxia, then drive to visit Shangli Ancient Town near Bifengxia. In the afternoon, back to Chengdu. Overnight at 4* hotel. Enjoy Sichuan opera after dinner. (B L D)
Day 9 – Transfer to airport for early morning flight to Lhasa, transfer to Lhasa 4* Hotel and rest in the afternoon adjusting to the altitude. (B L D)
Day 10 – Full day tour of Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple, Barkor Street. Note: The schedule to visit Potala Palace is subject to the time on the tickets. (B L D)
Day 11 – In the morning, visit a Traditional Tibetan Hospital and Norbulingka – Summer palace of Da Lai Lama. In the afternoon, visit Sera Monastery. Note: The highlight of Sera Monastery is debating Buddhist scriptures between Lamas in the temple during 15:00-17:00 every day. (B L D)
Day 12 – Half day tour to visit the Drepung Monastery. Transfer to the airport for flight to Shanghai, arrive in Shanghai in the evening, meet the tour guide at the airport and transfer to 4* hotel. (B L D)
